2019-06-02

On the 2nd of June in the European Solidarity Centre a premiere of documentary “We, the People” by Ewa Ewart took place. President Lech Wałęsa attended the projection. After the movie, he congratulated the authors, referring to the current political situation and speaking about the challenges future generations will have to face.

Mr. President stressed the necessity for young people to take care of the future of democracy. He spoke about the great social changes caused by the growing popularity of modern technologies. He also stated that we are in a transitional moment between two eras – the time of bloody conflicts of the 20th Century and a new era of information that requires us to formulate completely new principles of social cooperation, supporting democracy and freedom.

The premiere was a part of the celebration of 30 years of Polish elections in June 1989. Tomorrow at 6:30 PM in the European Solidarity Centre Mr. President will take part in a debate promoting the book “Lech, Leszek. To Win Freedom”. We kindly invite you to attend.
