2019-11-20

During his stay in Washington, Lech Wałęsa laid a wreath at the monument unveiled on the 20th anniversary of the famous Berlin speech by President Ronald Reagan. The statue commemorates over a hundred million victims of communist regimes around the world.

"Today I laid a wreath at the Victims of Communism Memorial in Washington. It is an important place and an important symbol commemorating the millions of victims of this murderous system. I thank everyone, including Anne Smith, for their initiative and determination in building this monument" - he wrote on his Facebook profile.
